Alison Potter, MD
Consulting Psychiatrist Info@behaviorquest.com

After training in Adult and then Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard, and practicing psychiatry in Boston for over 30 years, I'm delighted to return to my Bay Area roots. I have worked with all ages and a variety of modalities, from play therapy to talk therapy, and I consider and prescribe medication when appropriate. My style can be described as engaged, pragmatic and accessible. I believe that our symptoms are often our bodies' way of asking for help. I particularly care about helping people to feel more engaged and present in their lives, to feel both at ease in themselves and "enough", to be able to realistically acknowledge their vulnerabilities as well as their strengths, and to love and be loved as fully as they are able. I aim to understand how and why our lives may not be as satisfying as they might be. I believe that life is only as rewarding as it is challenging, and as we are able to take the risks necessary to meet those challenges.
